Congratulations to Cook County Department of Family & Children’s Services for

Congratulations to Cook County Department of Family & Children’s Services for being selected as the Chamber's STAR Member of the Week spotlight for the week of March 1st. This recognition is presented by the Small Business Development Committee each week to highlight an active business member or organization in our community. The Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) investigates reports of child abuse; finds foster and adoptive homes for abused and neglected children; issues SNAP, Medicaid and TANF; helps out-of-work parents get back on their feet; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help families in need. The local DFCS office is located at 1010 S Hutchinson Avenue in Adel and currently assists just over 4,000 individuals in Cook County. They have also partnered with “Called to Care” to provide items needed for families who are temporarily displaced or in the foster care system. Although the local office’s lobby is closed to the public due to the COVID-19 restrictions, staff office hours are Monday to Friday, 8-5. They can be reached at 896-3672 for more information on the various programs and assistance offered to those families in need.
