Cook County Family Connection

With a generous donation from a donor-advised fund of the Atlanta Jewish Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, our collaborative is distributing up to 100 Big Brown Bags each week during the summer for children.

Each large grocery bag is packed with 20 pounds of assorted food items and healthy snacks that help supplement the summer food supply for children. With funding from The Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy, each bag also includes an assortment of storybooks, crayons, art supplies, and learning materials.

The bags are distributed to children through a drive-thru event at our office each Monday morning, and are also delivered to children across the community through our team of volunteers and partner agencies.

We are most grateful to our funders—and to our team of tireless volunteers—who are helping to keep children well-fed and well-read this summer!
