The Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce received its charter in 1958. It is a private, not-for-profit organization for businesses, civic groups, non-profit organizations and community-minded people dedicated to supporting and improving the economic environment of Adel, Cecil, Lenox, Sparks and greater Cook County. The Adel-Cook Chamber fosters growth, prosperity, and leadership through developing and enhancing business, education, youth and senior programs, and cultural initiatives.
The Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional entities that have joined together for the purpose of promoting the commercial, industrial, and civic progress of our community. The areas economic well-being is a direct concern of the Adel-Cook Chamber of Commerce. It focuses on ways to impact business, income, and the future growth of its members.
The two primary functions of the Adel-Cook Chamber of Commerce are as follows:
1. To act as spokesman for the business and professional community in Cook County by translating into action the group thinking of its members.
2. To effectively render specific services to its members and the community as a whole.
The Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors selected from its membership. The Board is responsible for setting the policies of the Chamber and developing an annual plan of work which is carried out by various committees.
