Mrs. Ryther writes: One of my greatest accomplishments of the last 12 months has been the development of Memorial’s customer service initiative, “I AM Memorial.” This program is a comprehensive campaign focusing on commitment of staff, consistency in provision of care, and loyalty of our customers. I AM Memorial focuses on our patients, our staff, and our community. I have watched the movement grow throughout our organization and am moved by the goals we have reached as a team. The staff at Memorial provides optimum care to this community and I’m proud to say that I am a part of that team. I AM Memorial!
Having lived in large cities, I know there is nothing better than living in Adel. The people in this county are its greatest asset! I love living where everyone knows your name. The closeness of this community is inspiring. It’s great to know and care about your neighbors.
If I could change one thing about Cook County, it would be to impress upon our citizens to use local business to meet their needs. Our businesses need the support of our community.
Combining marketing efforts to provide high cost marketing avenues for local businesses is one way to achieve this goal. This has been done in other communities where companies jointly purchase a billboard and flash various businesses on this billboard. Everyone wins. Vendors get the exposure at a fraction of the cost.
I like to say, "Climb out on a limb. That is where the future is." Sometimes you just have to step out on faith. In order to succeed, you have to be willing to fail. I think we often forget that because we tend to view failure as a tragedy. Often times, it is in failure that we learn the most. If you don’t take the risk, you can’t reap the reward.
